Cox Plate. Has not been in consistent speedform, but his

best speedfigures at this trip & expect him to bounce
back to his best & take a lot of beating. Racing To Win
is an exciting & genuine galloper with a strong &
improving speed profile. A big danger. El Segundo has
produced career best speedfigures this campaign & if
you forgive his last start failure he still looms as a
major chance. Our Smoking Joe a brilliant speed effort
after leading last start & he is a high quality stayer
(best speed performances now in 2400-2500m range). Must
respect. Aqua D'Amore in similar category to Our Smoking
Joe with brilliant speed efforts beyond the 2040m trip. But
with best last start speed for meeting obviously too good
to disregard. Fields Of Omagh loves the MV 2040m & is
always prominent. Impossible to line the visitors against
the locals but Grey Swallow does appeal as a high quality
performer.

performance. Can only be further improved. Hard to beat.
Apache Cat has 2nd best recent speed & is young horse
with tons of potential. If he runs the trip he will prove a

progressing very well for a tilt at the cups. Strong
chance. Likewise Our Smoking Joe, Railings & Roman
Arch, all with very impressive speed profiles must be

Snort
(race 3) has best
speed profile and recent speed & is an enigmatic
galloper. Should have won The Danehill down Flem straight
1200m when ran out of galloping room last 250m, then failed
dismally last time. The trick to him is getting him a
smother & then he can produce a very strong finishing
sprint. From barrier 2 he should get the smother in transit
& if he can get into clear galloping room he is capable
of springing the surprise.
Genebel
(race 4) is the
best value galloper of the day. Has best speed profile
& last start ran home exceptionally well through
traffic on tight Moonee Valley track & would have
placed with galloping room. Only gets warm beyond 2000m
& should easily have won at her only attempt this track
& trip when 4th behind Tommifrancs after running into
dead ends the last 200m. Would need to step up in this if
she is to play a role in any of the cups.
Juste
Momente (race 6) has best
speed profile & ran home very well last start when
closing on Miss Finland. Has always appealed as a staying
filly & now steps out to a suitable distance. Should be
getting home very strongly.
Minson
(race 7) has best
speed profile & best recent speed for this race. Is
undefeated at Flemington (both wins at 1400m) & over
1200m. Would be improved after last start with 3 weeks
between runs & his ability to run a strong 1400m is
important down the tough Flem 1200m straight track. May
prove to be the forgotten horse in this race.
Lad
Of The Manor (race 8) one of
the best gallopers in the land and has best speed profile
& recent speed for this premier event. His last star
speedfigures were within 80% of his brilliant best & he
will be undoubtedly improved by the run.
Astrodame
(race 9) has best
recent speed for her race & goes exceptionally well at
the Flem 1400m. Drawn a middle barrier but with plenty of
speed likely early she should drop in behind and finish
race off in good style.
Thin
And Crispy (race 10) clearly
has best speed profile & has 2nd best recent speed
after competing without luck in group company against the
best in the land. Although not a group event, this race has
quality speed performers engaged but is still inferior to
recent fields he has met. Either wide or cluttered up with
no room in recent starts but from barrier 4 with strong
early speed (of Volitant) engaged he should get a better
run in transit this time.
