After so many very good results today was rather disappointing. From the 3 recommended speed horses today we collected with Posadas (best recent speed) @ $3.30 & a small profit on the day for those subscribers who follow the recommendation of best winning prospects. Belscenica @ $19.00 had 3rd best recent speed. Dollops was very unlucky to narrowly fail in race 7.

Sensational performance by Speedratings. Our one (and only) best bet for the day Custodian won easily @ $4.20 ($5.00 MaxiDiv) and was supported from over $7.00 on TAB's with 5 minutes of betting remaining. But to top it off our top selection in the feature race the Eclipse Stakes Bashful Girl (speed best - 2nd best recent speed) won @ $18.80 ($19.90 MaxiDiv). Unfortunately the worst day for Speedratings for very many months. Melbourne Cup Day is often very difficult with multiple race winners at very long odds. This year a prime example. Most years we get it pretty right. This year was a struggle. Our Melbourne Cup top selection Master O'Reilly did run home well for 4th - and was disadvantaged when the speed went out of the race mid-race. A difficult and disappointing day.

A pretty unspectacular day as judged by usual Speedrating standards. The premier miler in the country who has been hindered by wet tracks at recent starts. Always runs well fresh - though often runs into interference and bad luck. Fantastic effort by Speedratings across both Melbourne & Sydney racing. At Caulfield the winners were: First Command @ $2.10 (best recent speed); Solchow @ $4.80 (best recent speed); Precedence @ $4.20 (2nd best speed); Miss Maren @ $5.00 (eq 2nd best recent speed) & Happy Glen @ $7.40 (best recent speed). The top 3 last start speed performers (4 today as 2 were equal): Masked Assassin 1st @ $4.70; Chasm 2nd same race with exacta paying $20.10; Happy Glen 1st @ $7.40 - with only My Girl Helen being unplaced. At Randwick winners were Walking Or Dancing @ $5.30 (2nd best recent speed); Ortensia @ $3.20 (best recent speed); Orca @ $7.40 (best speed); Divine Rebel @ $7.40 (best recent speed); Cajou place @ $6.20 (top rated with 2nd best recent speed). Simply backing the top rated speed horses today shows big profits across both states.

Winners from the 6 rated races were Dancescape @ $2.30 & Belleza Veloz @ $4.60. Classicarl @ $22.30 had 2nd best speed profile for his race. In race 7 (won by Bella Veloz - best speed profile) the first four horses home were the top 4 nominated speed horses for that race. The exacta paid $71.10; the trifecta $356.80; the first four $1732.50 (for a $24.00 box outlay).

A day of disappointing results. Huxseen @ $4.90 & Disciplined @ $3.60 both had best recent speed performances in their respective races - producing a small profit for those who only support the best speed horses in each race. The other winner today was Marveen (best speed profile & top rated) @ $1.80. The best result from using speedform today came in race 3 at Caulfield where the horses with the top 4 recent speed performances finished first to fourth: the exacta paying $90.50; the trifecta $437.80; and the first four a huge $3570.70. Sydney provided a day of disappointments for Speedratings (and practically everyone else on a very heavy track). Ausbred King @ $25.20 had 3rd best speed profile for his race. Theseo & Fiumicino had best speed profiles on wet tracks - with Fiumicino winning @ $27.60 & the exacta paying $118.20. Obviously some valuable information provided in the general context of the meetings - but a disappointing day overall.

Not the most consistent of days from Speedratings - but once again the speedfigures prove correct in many of the feature races. The feature race in Melbourne was won by Skiddaw Peak @ $ 6.20 who had 2nd best recent speed for this race. There were only 4 horses in this race (after scratchings) who had recent speed performances - and these four filled the First Four and paid $457.40. Other winners for the day were Raffaello @ $3.70 & Miss Maren @ $1.50 who both had best recent speed performances for their races. In Sydney two of the feature races were won by horses with top two recent speed performances: Metal Bender (best recent speed) winning the Rosehill Guineas @ $4.30 and Solo Flyer (2nd best recent speed - best speed of locals) winning the Ajax Stakes @ $4.40. Overall marginally disappointing - but still a great source of unique & winning information that nobody should be without if they wish for long term success.

Another very strong effort from Speedratings with Time Matters (2nd best recent speed) a big winner @ $15.70. In addition speed stable (best) Go Missy a winner @ $2.40. The top 3 last start speed performances for this meeting were by Go Missy (1st @ $2.40); Mind Your Head (1st @ $4.40) & Mr Paparazzi (unplaced). Clients of Speedratings are able to keep the unique resource of the published speedfigures (plus my weekly speed reviews) to assess races all around Australia. In recent speed reviews I have been full of praise for Tempest Tost & Time Matters - todays comments for clients: Time Matters has 2nd best recent speed. Huge effort first up after more than one & a half years off racing - and not disgraced in Stakes race subsequently. Tons of ability & should be improved by recent racing. Also Tempest Tost has been top rated in Melbourne & clients of Speedratings knew that she clearly had best speed credentials for the Magic Millions 3YO Trophy, winning @ $11.20 (much better odds of over $15.00 were available away from Supertab). Similarly recent wins by Something Anything in Sydney have been expected by clients of Speedratings. Also today in Melbourne Grand Jardin @ $7.10 was given best chance of causing an upset in race 2 today. If you want facts (mathematical reasons - not guesses & fiction) why a horse will run well you can only source this from Speedratings.
