has performed consistently right through this campaign.
Dropped back in distance last start when he kicked clear
before being grabbed in last 50m. Extra distance suits his
style of racing & did easily defeat One Way Or Another
who subsequently won just as easy his next start. Hard to
beat. Brolago has 2nd best recent speed performance with
her best speed at the 2040 at MV before dropping back in
distance at her recent starts. Very unlucky last start when
going very easily but chopped out in straight. Not a great
barrier, but they will run along and she should get in as
field strings out. A big danger at good odds. Chances to
Baughurst (3rd best recent speed), Dance On Board, Blue
Collar Jack & Lacey Underall.

strong on speed victory last start. A danger. Good chance
to Zizou (best speed profile) who seems to be recapturing
his best form. Chances to Masked Assassin, Jestajune &

have both been at MV. Blinkers now go on (usually a
decisive factor for progeny of Zabeel). Failed last start
at Flemington on a shifting surface when he was caught in
the worst part near the rails. Would love to see him
emulate the performances of last Spring. Hard to beat.
Haradasun has best recent speed performance & has been
consistent through this campaign without being successful.
Finally drawn well & he will peak for this race. Big
danger. El Segundo (2nd best recent speed) is a MV
specialist with a great record at track & trip. Has 2nd
best recent speed performance & must be respected. Miss
Finland continues to perform brilliantly at the highest
level. Will start favourite and will be prominent again.

Barbaricus (race 6) looks a quality stayer
in the making & produced brilliant speedfigures to win
the Stutt Stakes. Ran home impressively in the Guineas
& this assignment should suit on the path to the VRC
Derby.
Red Lord (race 7) heads recent speed list
for this after impressive efforts behind Master O’Reilly
& an unlucky 4th behind Douro Valley & Maldivian.
Beat home The Fuzz that day & he and Douro Valley have
made that form read impressively. His only run this track
(and trip) was for a 4th behind Lazer Sharp in VRC St
Leger. Thrashed on that occasion but has made significant
improvement this campaign.
Efficient (race 8) has his best
speedfigures at MV. Apart from last start failure on
shifting Flemington track he appears to be returning to the
speedform of last Spring that saw him win the AAMI Vase
(this day) running much quicker time than did Fields Of
Omagh in winning the Cox Plate. Pressure goes on early and
this should allow him to use his stamina and brilliant
sprint to best effect. If the blinkers produce any
improvement he will be very hard to beat.

recent speed & must be respected. Shadoways has a very
strong speed profile & Our Maharaja has 2nd best recent
speed & drops in weight from recent wfa events. Also

profile from past 6 months. Not sure that the inside draw
suits as much as would a barrier from 5 to 10, but he will
have to go forward and either lead, or get off the fence.
Not the sort of horse who will do well cluttered up or
ridden pretty. Does look hardest to beat on speedfigures
and all other measures. Cinque Cento could be a danger at
good odds. Barrier 3 is ideal for her as she will go
forward and might get the perfect trail. Proven at the trip
& going very well until Flemington where she was inside
and not suited at all by a shifty surface. Maybe Better has
strong speedfigures and improving recent speed
performances. Now getting out to a suitable trip. Respect.
Blue Monday has a reasonable recent speedfigure, but now
out to a trip that should suit and he can surprise. Master
O’Reilly has strong speed profile & very strong recent
speed performances. Might be looking for something even
further now, but if they go too hard he will close fast.
Tempted to look outside of many of the locals who appear to
have stale speedfigures, or only minor or moderate recent
speed. Purple Moon from GB & Princess Coup from NZ are
in form and well credentialled & might be the best of
the rest.

Cinque Cento (race 8) Maldivian has
emerged as a star this Spring with emphatic wins &
brilliant speedfigures. Will be short priced, but will
prove very hard to beat. Cinque Cento is proven at the trip
& would be much higher in estimation if she had won the
Feehan at MV when she was the victim of circumstances
chasing the tearaway leader & only being caught late by
El Segundo & Haradasun. Blinkers go back on for this
& Flemington last start (shifty going near rails) did
not suit. A very good longshot chance.

Another strong effort from Speedratings today. From our
nominated speed stable today (3 horses only after
scratching of Maldivian) we had a winner Pillar Of Hercules
@ $5.10 ($6.00 available at MaxiDiv) & Bellini Rose 2nd
($2.00 for place). Later in the program a big eachway
collect on (best speed profile after scratchings & 2nd
rated today) Solar Secret who ran 3rd & paid a huge
$13.60 for the place.

in a race where there is no outstanding filly. Was strong
against the males when just behind Pins On Parade &
beating home Barbaricus, before winning at Morphetville
& then having no luck last start at Flem from an
outside draw. Nothing wrong with her credentials coming
into this feature event.
El Pauji (race 7) has best speed
credentials for this & was most impressive last start
going out hard from outside draw & still being strong
at the finish behind boom mare Vormista. Loves this trip
& won’t have to work so hard early this time. Hard to
beat.

Bon Hoffa has best recent speed, but these are still some
way less than the speed best of some of his rivals. Still
improving though & he deserves a lot of respect. Divine
Madonna has best speed profile & is a brilliant mare.
Will get back, but she will be getting home hard. Dr
Nipandtuck has had a strong campaign and he does have a
strong speed profile which was set on a wet track. Rain
would bring him right into calculations.

Cinque Cento is a high quality mare. Probably wins the

performer with an amazing finishing burst. Always rate
highly. Marasco is very talented and the change of gear may
